NWRMA DG Welcomes Conservation Trust Fund, Executive Director And Team

The Director General of the National Water Resources Management Agency (NWRMA), Ing. Pierre Palmer, welcomed the Executive Director of the Conservation Trust Fund (CTF), Mr Ahamid C. Jalloh, and his team to the Agency. The visit provided an opportunity for the CTF team to introduce the Fund to the Agency and explore potential areas of collaboration, particularly in revenue mobilization to support the Fund’s initiatives.

During the meeting, the CTF introduced its mandate and highlighted some of the challenges confronting the Fund, particularly in the areas of fundraising and resource mobilization.

Discussions focused on identifying practical areas where collaboration between CTF and NWRMA could provide mutual institutional benefits and support the implementation of initiatives related to environmental conservation and sustainable natural resource management.

The CTF further informed the Agency that it is at an advanced stage of developing its own regulatory framework and expressed interest in reviewing NWRMA’s existing regulatory framework. This is intended to enhance understanding of the Agency’s regulatory mandate and promote greater institutional coordination while avoiding potential overlaps, duplication, or conflicts of functions.

Welcoming the delegation in the Agency’s conference room on Wednesday, 16th September 2026, the Director General, Ing. Pierre Palmer, congratulated Mr. Jalloh on his appointment and assured him of the Agency’s willingness to support initiatives aimed at protecting Sierra Leone’s wetlands and marine ecosystems.
